On 10 December 2019 the Final Conference of MORPHEUS project was held in Lund, Sweden. Within the cooperation with the Baltic Strategy on the topic of pharmaceuticals in the water, PA4 representative participated in this conference in order to get updated information and best practice in this topic.

The overall idea of the project is to address challenge of the pharmaceutical pollution in the Baltic Sea area. Project Morpheus involves 7 partners and 9 associated partners from 4 Programme Member States (Sweden, Germany, Poland and Lithuania). The conference gave an overview on newest data on consumption and occurrence of pharmaceuticals in the South Baltic model areas of the MORPHEUS Project. Furthermore, advanced treatment technologies were presented and discussed as suitable options to reduce the chemical burden of pharmaceutical in the environment.
