THE BUDAPEST WATER SUMMIT 2019, BWS 2019

October 14, 2019in 2019 0 Likes

Building on the success of the 2013 and 2016 events, the Government of Hungary organizes again the most important Hungarian diplomatic event of the year, the Budapest Water Summit, the main theme of which is the prevention of the global water crisis, and where prevention is no longer possible, to facilitate adaptation to effects.

The main goal of this year’s Summit – held on October 15-17 under the patronage of H.E. Mr János Áder, President of Hungary – is to apply the prevention of the water crisis and the succesful adaptation to the consequences to all situations caused by abundant, scarce and polluted waters, thereby contributing to the conversion of the global water policy processes. As compared to previous years, an even greater emphasis is put on the water exhibition (BWS 2019 EXPO), held as a part of the Summit, which is going to be organised under the name of ” Digital and Nature-based Sustainable Solutions Expo”. Please find the details of the BWS at: https://www.budapestwatersummit.hu/en

On 16 October 2019 the Danube Strategy Priority Areas Water Quality and Environmental Risks will participate in a side event of the BWS titled: “Celebrating 25 years of successful transboundary cooperation” together with the ICPDR. Summary of the event will be provided soon
