Motto of the Forum: โ€œCooperation in the Danube Region: Now more than ever! Shaping transformation, creating opportunitiesโ€.ย  The Annual Forum provided a platform for all stakeholders of the Region and beyond to discuss challenges ahead, work on joint solutions, and create visions for a prosperous future. Program of the Forum is here.

Within the Forum programme, PA4 organised the parallel session 5: Is the water clean and passable enough for fish to survive?

The session aimed to emphasise the importance of fish conservation, the maintenance of water quality and connectivity restoration including projectsโ€™ achievements in the Danube River, particularly focusing on migratory fish species, including sturgeons as the Danube flagship species. ย Except of presentations and short discussion, participants saw a short video on the negative human impacts on the living conditions of migratory fish.

Presentations of the PA4 session:

Raimund Mair, World Bank

Marlene Haimann, BOKU Vienna
