JOINTISZA PROJECT – Ad-Hoc Task Group meeting and Stakeholder workshop
On 23 May 2018 in Szolnok in relation to the pilot activity towards the development of a “Guidance paper on climate change induced specific water quantity issues to overcome challenges” was organised.
In the Integrated Tisza River Basin Management Plan in 2011,three water quantity related management aspects have been specified namely flood and excess water events, drought and water scarcity and alerting climatic conditions, which called the attention that the future extreme climate events might further intensify the impacts of flood, drought, excess and water scarcity in the Tisza River Basin.
The JOINTISZA project aims to investigate on how the Tisza countries can overcome problems in case climate change. The pilot activity utilize the methodology of so called Shared Vision Planning, which method was developed by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and pays special attention to stakeholder involvement.
The next Steering Group meeting and Worpkpackages’ meetings back to back with a Tisza Group meeting will take place in Bukarest, Romania in 5-8 June 2018.
