The TidyUp project has published recently its study on “Policy Guidance on Tackling Riverine Plastic Pollution in the Danube River Basin”.
The project implementation was facilitated by the EUSDR PA4 too and the results are in line with the goals of priority area on „water quality”
The results of 3 years of development, research and consultation are now available for download by interested stakeholders.
The policy document is the result of the cooperation of 21 organizations, including from Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria and Ukraine. In the course of our cooperation, the project prepared a comprehensive survey of the latest international and national legal and environmental protection measures related to the quality of surface waters of the project countries.
The new policy guide that has just been published (attached to the letter) provides a comprehensive overview of the relevant sector-specific legislation, describing the institutional structure of each country and the pollution-related mechanisms.
