The topic of water scarcity and drought is currently strongly resonating in the environmental community and has been embedded in the thematic area of the EU Green Deal and Climate change agenda, as well as in the Common Implementation Strategy (CIS) Work Programme 2022 – 2024.
The workshop „Towards a better understanding of drought impacts and risks in water management sector” precisely reflected this theme. It was held on 4 April 2023 (online) under the Presidency of the Slovak Republic in the Visegrad Group.
The programme was divided into three thematic blocks: Assessment of drought management policies/plans; Enhancing drought impacts and risks assessment in the EU and Tools of water scarcity and drought management in terms of river basin management planning and risk reduction.
